Where To Buy Tapioca Bread

Last updated on August 14th, 2023

Where to buy Tapioca Bread is something you may be looking for if you are looking for gluten free bread. There are a variety of non-wheat flours you can use to make bread that does not include gluten. Getting the right texture without gluten strands is a bit tricky. You can always consider other types like coconut bread. Another type of gluten-free bread is made with tapioca flour. Below we consider some places you can get it online and at local stores.

When doing my digging for a list of retail stores that stock this type, I found that only one recurring brand that makes it… Ener-G. They call it a Tapioca Loaf, it’s free of gluten, wheat, casein, dairy, egg, soy, and nuts. It’s stocked in two variations light and regular, both being thinly sliced. For a full ingredients list you can visit the companies website.

So all in all it appears to be a healthy bread to consume and it is GMO free, which is an added plus. But before I list off where you can buy tapioca bread, I wanted to share a few consumer reviews for those who may be trying tapioca bread for the first time…

What People are Saying about this Bread

“This is a good bread for gluten-intolerant people. It tastes good and doesn’t fall apart so easily.”

“This was my first try and gluten free bread and it was all right. The loaf is small compared to a “normal” loaf of bread, so if you use it for sandwiches it makes kind of cute little sandwiches. It tastes pretty good, but falls apart easily and is pretty dry. That being said, I would buy it again.”

So at this point you’re probably confident that you want to try this and are wondering where you can buy it. So let’s start with your local options.

Where to buy Tapioca Bread Locally

Can you get This at Walmart?

Unfortunately you can’t always buy tapioca bread locally from Walmart, they do have it on their website- but they only sell it in 6 packs.

More Traditional Supermarkets

However has far as local supermarkets go, you might get lucky and find it at Hannaford’s. They have a much larger health food section, so I do suggest starting your search there if you are near one.

Where to Find It at Health Food Stores

You should also be able to find it at your local health food store, if you have multiple health food stores like I do – you may want to call before you go driving around to each one. You can do a Yelp search and include your city and maybe zip code to find the ones closest to you.

Can you get Tapioca Bread at Whole Foods?

One last local option is if you have a local Whole Foods Market. You can visit their website to see where your nearest store is located. They have been stocking quite a few items in a gluten free versions for some time so they may have what you need or can point you in the right direction.

That’s kinda it for local shopping options. But don’t get discouraged because there are quite a few websites that sell tapioca bread. Starting with our favorite… Amazon!

Where to Buy Tapioca Bread Online

You can buy various brand Tapioca Bread in single loaves, 6 or 12 packs. A lot of the options are Ener-g which have a jump start on this market. Amazon carries both the “light” and “regular” tapioca loaf options made by Ener-G.

iherb.com seems to be a pretty popular website for online tapioca bread shoppers. They have a lot of flours and mixes to make this.

Vitacost.com has both 8oz light and 16oz regular tapioca loaves, they are only sold individually. This store also carries dinner rolls and hot dog buns made from Tapioca flour.

Fruitful Yield seems to have the good prices online for tapioca bread loaves. They sell the 16oz regular loaves for $9.79.

Where to Find This on Etsy

Etsy is a great place for handmade or personalized items and food is no different. There are quite a few smaller kitchens making small batch items like Tapioca Bread or flours for making it.
